Feedback widget
planned
Yangshun Tay
At the bottom of every GitBook doc page, there's a feedback widget that users can use to provide feedback to the docs maintainers about the page. The traditional way of opening an issue/pull request is usually too troublesome. This feedback widget could be a frictionless way of getting feedback on docs. Users would have to be in-charge of finding their own back ends for feedback storage or simply leverage on their analytics solution.

Ouch, I just noticed this has been planned for 2.5 years 😅, I guess I'll use one of the suggestions below.

Hi there,
I'm building PushFeedback, a feedback widget specifically designed for documentation sites.
For Docusaurus users, we've streamlined the integration process! You can incorporate our widget in minutes with our Docusaurus extension: https://docs.pushfeedback.com/installation/docusaurus.
While PushFeedback is a software-as-a-service, our heart lies in empowering the open-source community. That's why we're offering a dedicated plan absolutely free for eligible projects.

David Garcia: Hello David, I tried to change the default primary color to #FF0000 in docusaurus project using :root{
--feedback-primary-color: #FF0000;
}. The change did not reflect. What can be the problem? N.B I integrated the widget by running the swizzle command.

David Garcia: I tried to use
pushfeedback
but it seems your plugin only supports docusaurus v2 (not v3).David Garcia
Hi Serdar, we've updated PushFeedback to support Docusaurus V3. You can find the installation guide here: https://docs.pushfeedback.com/installation/docusaurus

eyitayo Babatope Please define your styles in the custom.css file. Refer to this guide for more details:https://docs.pushfeedback.com/installation/docusaurus#customization

Hi folks,
Just a quick note to those still following this topic: Feedback Rocket offers 'feedback as a service' and works a treat with Docusaurus. Feel free to check the Docusaurus integration guide out here - end to end the process only takes a couple of minutes: https://www.feedbackrocket.io/integration-guides/docusaurus
Disclaimer: I'm the solo founder of Feedback Rocket. It's free for open source projects, and very reasonably priced for everyone else :).

Nick Payne: Just implemented and it was super easy! I actually decided to Swizzle and existing component to add the link as opposed to adding in the header.

Nick Payne: good to know that there is such one solution.

Here I made a post about how to add feedback widget to docs using swizzle: https://happyreact.com/blog/feedback-widget-in-docusaurus

It's already possible to build this with swizzle (cf the RN website) but we'll make it easier and document how to do so, as it's a common customization pattern.

Sébastien Lorber: THANKS!
